Online Music Jams

Taking Part Assistant David attends each music jam! Here’s what he says about them:

January’s jam

“First off, we listened to William’s track; then we had a free style jam, which was absolute madness!

Afterwards; we had the open mic, which went really well as always. Everyone sang their hearts out and in general, everyone enjoyed taking part.”

November’s jam

“November’s music jam was a little bit emotional because of the sad passing of musical legend Lizzie Emeh.

So with that in mind, we split into 2 different groups we had a lyrics group and a beats group and in both groups we paid tribute to great legend herself, Lizzie Emeh! Afterwards we listened to William’s track which was again on point. Then last but not least we did a group song to commemorate the queen of music!!!“

October’s jam

“Yet another packed music jam as always, everyone was having a wicked time as per usual! The session was led by the man himself, none other than Mr. William King! It was a wonderful sight to behold and to see everyone dancing and joking around. The first thing that we did, was listen to William’s track  which again was really top class.

Next  we created a London based soundscape which was really cool to create.

Last but not least, we had open mic which again everyone  belted out their favourite song. ”During Heart n Soul’s two year research project, Heart n Soul at The Hub, we started holding monthly music jams. The music jams were a chance for people to come together to create new experimental sounds. People could use musical instruments, objects, their voices or their bodies to make noise. The music jams are run by William and Robyn.”

When the pandemic began, we stopped meeting in person - but our music jams continued online!
